BEACHFRONT MAKEOVER BRINGSFRESH LOOK TO PORT FAIRY

Port Fairy’s refreshed East Beach Precinct is now complete and ready to make a splash with locals and visitors year-round, thanks to support from the Allan Labor Government.

Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora today opened the upgraded precinct, which was made possible by a $1.27 million investment from the Labor Government.

A family friendly destination about 30 minutes away from Warrnambool, Port Fairy’s East Beach offers gentle waves and shallow waters that are perfect for families to enjoy.

Delivered just intime for whale-watching season, the precinct upgrades span 4,000 square metres and include new landscaped and lawned spaces to attract more visitors to East Beach.

The upgrades provide everything for outdoor day trips and holidays including new shelters, barbecues, bathrooms, changing rooms, water fountains, bike racks, public seating and sun lounges.

The area is close to the Gardens Caravan Park which attracts visitors travelling throughout Victoria’s Great South Coast in the warmer months.

As well as delivering a more attractive and accessible public space at this popular beach, the project also supported around 40 local construction jobs.

Funding for the East Beach Precinct upgrades forms part of our record support of more than $47 billion for rural and regional Victoria in just over a decade. For more information, go to rdv.vic.gov.au.
